Position Description:

JCC anticipates potential part-time openings for prison education instructors in the disciplines of English, mathematics, psychology, and sociology for the upcoming spring 2023 and summer 2023 semesters.  

These courses will be offered in-person at Collins Correctional Facility in Collins, New York as part of JCC’s new Prison Education Program.  Each course will be offered one night a week in the evenings.  Adjuncts will work with JCC’s Prison Education Coordinator to become orientated with teaching in a correctional facility. Instructors should be aware that there is very limited technology available in the correctional facility.

Qualifications:

Required: Master’s Degree (or higher) in relevant field, with graduate credits in area applying for.

Preferred: Teaching experience, prison education experience.

Additional Information:

Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Final candidates are subject to a pre-employment criminal background investigation.
