Position Description:

JCC anticipates potential part-time openings for adjunct faculty in English Composition for upcoming semesters (fall and spring) at the Collins Correctional Facility. Class times will vary from semester to semester. Courses that will be taught are ENG 1510 English Composition I (Fall) & ENG 1530 English Composition II (Spring).

This is a pool posting and applications are accepted on an on-going basis. Applicants will be contacted on an as-needed basis.

Qualifications:

Required: Master’s degree in English; or at least 18 graduate credit hours in English literature or composition from an MA English program; or a master’s degree in literacy, reading, or related area in addition to at least 2 years of experience teaching composition. Upon request, evaluation of non-English graduate credit may be done on a case-by-case basis.

Preferred: Teaching experience, prison education experience.

Additional Information:

Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Final candidates are subject to a pre-employment criminal background investigation.
