Position Description:
Full-time ten months, part-time two months, grant-funded position based in Dunkirk Secondary School. The GEAR UP Navigator has responsibility for assisting the Program Director with all operations of the SUNY Jamestown Community College Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs (GEAR UP). This person will work closely with a cohort of students to prepare them for post-secondary opportunities. The GEAR UP Navigator will develop relationships with school administrators, faculty, staff, and parents. This person facilitates tutoring services to students, has responsibility for coordinating mentoring services to cohort students at Dunkirk Secondary School, and collects data and assists with program reports.

Qualifications:
Required: Bachelor’s degree. Computer literacy including database systems. Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal/human relations skills; commitment to providing excellent customer service; problem solving; and organizational skills. Must be able to write and deliver persuasive proposals/presentations; plan, prioritize, and coordinate multiple projects in a team setting. Attention to detail and accuracy. Be able to enter data. Valid driver’s license and be able to travel to overnight conferences and summer academies
Preferred: : Master’s degree. Experience in education, counseling, or social work. Experience in youth services, educational administration, grant-funded project management, and case management. Proficiency in Spanish
Additional Information:
Salary: $23.89 - $29.00/hour.. Excellent benefits package, including medical and dental insurance, paid vacation and sick leave, and NYS retirement.
